This year, Santa came early to the Indian Institute of Technology campuses, where crore-plus offers during final placements set a new all-time high of 185-odd.

Domestic offers accounted for a major portion of these crore-plus packages for the first time ever, as corporations went all out to attract the greatest tech talent.

The highest domestic packages were 1.8 crore per year at the IITs of Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Madras, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati, and Varanasi. International packages cost between 2.15-2.4 crores.

According to campus sources and placement cells, IIT-Delhi students received over 60 offers with salaries of more than Rs 1 crore, with Kanpur (49), Madras (27), Bombay (12), Roorkee (11), Guwahati (5), and BHU also receiving crore-plus packages (1). IIT-Kharagpur claimed it had 22 packages ranging from Rs 90 lakh to Rs 2.4 crore, with 1-2 bundles in the Rs 90 lakh-1 crore bracket.
