Exam anxiety is pressuring India Inc.’s new independent directors (IDs) to sharpen their abilities in accordance with the demands of the moment. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs mandated that all independent directors undergo a self-assessment exam in order to be eligible for directorship in 2019. No matter their age, a number of prospective independent directors are studying to overcome this obstacle.
Based on the exam clearing rate, the results of these efforts are clear. 10,577 independent directors took the self-assessment test through June 30, according to information obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) process. 10 154 of them passed the test, while 423 of them failed. The figures indicate that 96 percent of students pass.
