Following the pandemic, the Hindi film industry appears to be stuck between two extremes: the majority of movies are either superhits or box office flops; there are hardly any average films.

Only two movies have performed “average” business, according to various estimates made by trade analysts in the industry, out of all the movies released since March 2022 after the reopening of theatres.

Out of the 31 movies that have been released in theatres, 22 (or nearly 71 percent) have been box office bombs, losing at least half of their budgets; however, two have been blockbusters, making more than 200 percent; and five have been modest successes, earning some money.
