According to British media, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has agreed to resign, putting an end to an unprecedented political crisis over his future.
Johnson had resisted calls from his Cabinet, including newly appointed chancellor Nadhim Zahawi, to resign in the aftermath of ethics scandals.
He caved after more than 40 ministers resigned from his government and told him to leave.
However, after a series of cabinet resignations protesting his leadership, he vowed to “keep going.”
A Conservative leadership election will be held this summer, and a new prime minister will be in office by the time of the party conference in October.
