The Serum Institute of India (SII) announced on Friday that the Covishield booster dose will cost Rs 600 plus taxes in the market, while hospitals will pay a lower price.

The announcement comes just hours after the Centre stated that all persons above the age of 18 who have completed nine months after receiving the second dose of COVID-19 can now receive the precaution dose (booster).

According to the Union Health Ministry, vaccinations will begin on April 10 at private centres.

“Adding another layer of protection! From April 10th, 2022, private vaccination centres will offer the precaution dose to people aged 18 and up. All people aged 18 and over who have waited nine months after receiving the second dose are eligible for the precaution dose “Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, announced on Twitter.
