With a winning bid of Rs. 10.84 lakh per MW, Sajjan-Jindal-led JSW Energy has emerged as the lowest bidder in the pilot large-scale battery storage auction. One of the largest battery storage auctions in the world, held by Solar Energy Corp of India (SECI), ended late on Thursday.

According to persons with knowledge of the auction’s specifics, seven additional companies—Acme Barmer Solar, Hartree Partners Singapore, Eden Renewable Vavin Pvt Ltd, Sterlite Power Transmission, NTPC Renewable Energy, Renew Solar Power, and Azure Power—were also competing.

They said that Reliance Industries, Adani Power, and Tata Power expressed interest in the tender early on but did not submit a bid.
