Officials from India’s Reserve Bank and Russia’s Central Bank met in a Mumbai hotel on Wednesday to explore payment options for commerce between the two countries, including paying for products and services in rupees and roubles.

Officials from Russia’s central bank were supposed to meet with their counterparts to develop a regulatory framework that would allow bilateral trade and banking operations to continue despite the sanctions placed on Russia for invading Ukraine.
