Due to declining crude and edible oil prices, retail inflation in India slightly decreased to 7.01 percent on an annual basis in June from 7.04 percent in May.

Sequentially, headline inflation decreased from 0.94 percent in May to 0.52 percent. Core inflation, which does not include the cost of food and fuel, was 6 percent in June.

In June, the overall rate of food inflation decreased from the previous month’s 7.97 percent to 7.75 percent.
