Sensex records its second-largest single-day gain of 2022: Major drivers of stock market rally

On Tuesday, domestic equities indices ended the day higher due to widespread purchasing demand. The banks and financial stocks had the biggest rises.

The 30-share Sensex gained 1,564.45 points, the second-largest point gain of the year, to end at 59,537.09, increasing the market capitalization of all businesses listed on the BSE by Rs 5.65 lakh crore to Rs 280.21 lakh crore from Rs 274.56 lakh crore. The session ended with Nifty50, its larger sibling, safely above the 17,750 level. Nifty has increased 3.4% this month, including a 2.6% increase today.

Asian markets closed neutral earlier in the day despite gains of 0.99 and 1.14 percent in South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei 225, respectively. The Shanghai Composite Index of China decreased by 0.42 percent.
